Pocket VMS is a Windows Mobile application that capture runtime data from MegaSquirt
II, MS2Extra and VEMS engine managment controllers. Pocket VMS is intended only
for monitoring runtime data and for limited datalogging.
Pocket VMS runs on Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 and 6.5. It can also run on your tablet, laptop
or desktop running WinXP, Vista or Win7. Windows Phone 7 is not supported because
of some buildin limitations. Maybe later...
Your phone must be able to connect via the BlueTooth serial services, in order to
connect to your MegaSquirt or VEMS. Here is a
guide to use
MegaSquirt with BlueTooth
If your phone has buildin GPS, you will be able to see your speed and your
present fuel consumption. Datalogging can be started in the background, to the SD card
or device memory, on your phone.
On phones with buildin GPS, you can choose to let Pocket VMS periodically update
a webserver
log with your current GPS position and speed, together with your realtime engine
data. The data can be viewed on this webserver together with your position in Google
maps.
Each phone is assigned a WebID by you, in order to place logdata on the webserver.
These logdata will be identified by your WebID. Only 5 lines of logdata is preserved
on the webserver and updated periodically by your phone. GPS data is only transferred
if you activate your GPS. Engine data is only transferred if you are connected to
your engine management controller.
